Well done, Generalfeldmarschall! Against all odds you have kept our Tunisian bridgehead from being completely overrun by the Allies. You have ended your desert career on the greatest possible note of triumph. The combined armies of England and the USA have again shown themselves to be no match for your now-legendary skill and the determination of your men. Generalfeldmarschall, your stand in Tunisia has been nothing less than heroic! We are astonished that you have maintained the Tunisian bridgehead against all odds. You have been the noblest of commanders, but your long Afrikan saga is drawing to a close! All of your Afrikan conquests are now reduced to a mere corner of Tunisia. Generalfeldmarschall, I study the maps in despair. Transports are already at sea and if they survive contact with Allied naval forces they must debark immediately in any of the harbors we still control. Any hope of retaining our Tunisian bridgehead must center on the key cities of Tunis, Bizerte, Mateur, and Djedeida of course, but if we have fair success in providing resupply and reinforcement you may find it possible to hold a wider perimeter. We at OKH salute you! The Allies press in from every side and their strength is nearly overwhelming. Generalfeldmarschall, your decision to defy Berlin's instructions and remain in Tunisia with your men in a final stand is heroic.
